This project is a digital reinterpretation of a traditional music box, presented through an interactive 3D carousel. The goal was to create a “digital archive” of the charm, nostalgia, and craftsmanship found in classic carousels, while adding opportunities for customization and playful interaction. The carousel plays music and moves in a way that mimics real carousel motion, complete with ornaments, a crested rooftop, and other stylistic details that capture the elegance of vintage designs. Users can change the music through the GUI, which also shifts the theme and aesthetic of the carousel to match the chosen sound. My creative choices blend visual design with auditory experience, creating a cohesive, mood-driven interaction. Part of the motivation behind the project was the absence of digital carousels that fully embrace the beauty and tactile feeling of physical ones. I wanted to explore what this experience could look like in a modern, interactive form. Made with P5js.
