Ashley Wright

Biography

Ashley Wright is a 4th year Cinema and Media Arts student at York University, specializing in 3D modelling and compositing. Within her program she has worked on several projects, both collaboratively and individually. Throughout her degree, she frequently worked as the visual effects lead, developing strong skills in technology while collaborating with other creatives to create visually interesting works.

Her practice is grounded in creative problem-solving and technical accuracy, with a growing interest in cross discipline creativity. Going into her final semester, Ashley is particularly drawn to using her skills in visual effects to learn and understand scientific fields such as anatomy, astronomy, biology, and related disciplines through digital visualization. By combining visual effects with scientific concepts, she aims to create works that combine these two subjects into compelling stories and narratives.
