Masih Asadi

Biography

My name is Masih Asadi, a cinematographer and part-time musician studying Cinema and Media Arts at York University. My current project, The Life of Being Persian, is a short documentary built around intimate interviews with Iranians living in Canada and Iran. The film asks: What does it really mean to be Iranian? Through personal stories, I explore identity, culture, family, politics, and the realities of everyday life. My uncle and I began this project to create a space where Iranians can speak in their own voices, moving beyond the headlines and narratives often presented to foreign audiences. Rather than defining Iran through one perspective, the film seeks to listen, allowing individual experiences and memories to create a more intimate portrait of Iranian life and identity.
