Stéphan Rasoafanoharana is a Malagasy Canadian film composer and music producer based in Toronto,
He honed his scoring craft under established composers Sarah Slean and Randolph Peters, refining his sense of narrative and orchestration. He was selected for the Screen Composers Guild of Canada’s Mentorship Program, where he was mentored by award-winning composer Adrian Ellis.
As a Composer for York University Film Productions, Stéphan has become a go-to collaborator for emerging filmmakers, creating music across a wide range of genres and visual styles. He approaches every project with a filmmaker’s intuition—translating ideas, visuals, and emotions into vivid musical narratives
His work spans synth-driven electronic scores, sci-fi and fantasy soundtracks, 8-bit-inspired game music, richly textured orchestral compositions, and more.
