Biography

Hi, I’m Tiara, a multi-disciplinary artist working in videography and creating independent digital content with expertise in communications, film arts, and media studies. I aim to fill the gap in the videography field not just for black women but for all people who need opportunities and representation through the video arts.

A year ago, I started my company Reel+True to support my family in the years following my dad’s stroke. I grew up helping my dad with his wedding videography business in my hometown of New Orleans. 6 years later, all that equipment was sitting in our garage in Whitby with nothing to do until I came in. I started filming promotional videos for local small businesses. I have also worked on several narrative short-films like (colourized), Die Trying, Bound by Defiance and A Penny for Your Thoughts. Currently, I'm completing my HBA in Communications and Media Studies, expanding Reel+True towards wedding content creation, and completing my next short film Cuddle.
