The idea behind the film was to revive memories and create my family’s archive. Coming from a family that opposed a dictatorial government was a challenge in itself. I fought against the dictatorship for human rights, women's rights, and my right to be an artist without serving an authoritarian regime. I escaped my country with my two-year-old daughter through three different countries. I couldn't bring any photos; I only brought my drawings. I decided to create a film collage that combines my drawings from my long journey across four countries with analogue and digital photos taken after fleeing my homeland.

Three generations of my family—or, to be accurate, four, because they are deeply connected—without each other, there would be no story or archive of my family. Like any family, my family's history is closely tied to the history of my country. My grandmother, mother, and I are deeply intertwined with the history of my nation. This film is now our family album. I hope my kids will keep this album and pass it on to their children.
