This project takes my original artwork and photographs of cats, along with well-known poems about cats and turns them into an art catalogue book. When creating this book, I wanted to incorporate the art mediums I liked and the poems I found interesting. This is what led me to decide to make four booklets that wrap up into one.
This project was inspired by the many visually interesting art catalogue books (designed by people such as Irma Boom, Ludovic Balland, and Christian Lange) I viewed while researching for inspiration. I like visually interesting layouts, but I also wanted to focus on making my work look important by not being too expressive with the type. I learned from looking at these book designs that balance is important in a design and that the focus should be on the work.
