Inspired by the Tricorder from Star Trek (2001) Season 7 Episode 18, MyScan was developed as a medical scanning app available on your phone. This app allows users to scan for any issues in the skin level, muscle level, or bone level on their selected part of the body.
The design principle that was chosen to connect is HCI, specifically the BCI (brain-computer interface) component. By pointing the camera towards a chosen part of the body, the device understands that this is the specific area that the user wants to scan without being told so.
The user flow follows a user connecting the scanning device to their phone, which prompts them to open the app. From there, they begin scanning. The user points the camera towards the chosen area on their body, their face, to begin analyzing for any problems. From there, the app detects two issues in the bone level of their body. The user investigates the issues in the diagnosis screen after investigating on the other levels of their body, to see the specific details of the problems and the treatment plan to follow. Finally, the user confirms the analysis and saves it to their history.
