Pawn In Your Game is a silent short film about a woman named Armeni & her struggle with her emotionally abusive partner, José. However, this relationship is less of a romantic one and more akin to chess. With each action being shown visually and metaphorically, as a chess move. Throughout the film, José attempts to trap and manipulate Armani, using her as a pawn in his game. Will she break free of this twisted contest?
Being the antagonist in this film truly pushed my abilities. With the support of the small team that worked on this film (Ryan Raake, Liam Spears & Koki Kieti), I feel I was able to bring the character to life and showcase an eerily realistic portrayal of an emotionally abusive spouse.
